Sewer Line Locating and Mapping, explained.
Most sewer pipes are invisible and often undocumented. Plans may be missing, wrong or out of date, and additions over the years add surprises. Locating shows where the pipe really goes, how deep it is and where it bends, which matters for any repair, a new patio or an addition.
A camera head carries a small transmitter. A technician follows the signal on the surface with a receiver, marking the path and depth with paint or flags. We note connections, cleanouts and changes of direction and give you a simple sketch. It supports repair planning and also protects the pipe when other work is done above it.

Is this the same as calling 811?
No. 811 locates public utilities. Private sewer lines on your property usually are not marked by 811, which is why private locating helps.
How accurate is it?
It is generally good for planning. Depth and position can vary with soil and signal, and we mark with that in mind.
Can you find a pipe without a camera?
Sometimes with other tools, but a camera with a transmitter is the most reliable way to trace a specific line.
