The service

Collapsed and Deteriorated Pipe Repair, explained.

When a sewer pipe collapses, part of it caves in, flattens or breaks apart. Signs include a sudden total blockage, a camera that cannot pass, sinking ground and sewage that will not clear. A liner needs a pipe it can travel through and press against, so a collapsed section cannot simply be lined.

The options depend on how much of the line has failed. If the collapse is limited, a short targeted dig can replace that section. If much of the line has deteriorated, pipe bursting or other trenchless replacement can renew it from small pits. A camera, a locate and sometimes a bored or excavated test pit show the right path, and we explain the choices without hiding the digging that may be needed.

Questions

Collapsed and Deteriorated Pipe FAQ.

Can a collapsed pipe be repaired without digging?

Often a trenchless replacement such as pipe bursting avoids a full trench, but small pits are still required. A short targeted dig is sometimes the best way to repair a limited collapse.

How fast do I need to act on a collapse?

A collapsed line can fail further and the surface above can sink. Sooner is better, and until it is repaired the plumbing should be used sparingly or not at all.

Can you find the collapse if the camera cannot pass?

A locator and the camera’s stopping point show where the problem begins. We plan the pit from that point.
