Lateral Reinstatement and Reconnection in Nashville and Middle Tennessee
The service

Lateral Reinstatement and Reconnection, explained.

A liner does not know where the side connections are. When it cures, it covers them, so every lateral that joins the lined pipe has to be opened again. A remote-controlled cutter travels inside the pipe, guided by camera, and cuts a clean opening at each connection.

Done well, reinstatement leaves round, smooth openings at the right size, with no fragments left in the pipe. We map connections before lining and verify each one afterward on camera. It is also part of lateral work where a lined lateral meets a main or a lined main meets a side line.

Signs this service fits

  • A main has just been lined
  • A lined lateral meets another pipe
  • A connection was covered and flow has stopped
  • You want proof that every connection is open
Is it right for your pipe?

A good fit, and what to know.

We would rather you hear the limits from us than discover them later.

A good fit when

  • Mains and laterals with side connections
  • Lined lines where a connection stopped flowing
  • Jobs that need verified openings

Worth knowing

  • Reinstatement happens from inside the pipe, so it does not repair a broken connection or a failed junction outside the liner
  • Damage at a tee or wye may need separate attention

Questions

Lateral Reinstatement FAQ.

Is reinstatement part of lining?

Yes, for any lined pipe that has side connections. We plan it with the lining job and confirm each opening afterward.

Can a cut damage the liner?

Cutters are designed to cut cleanly through the cured liner. Skilled operation and the camera help keep the cuts exact.

What if a connection was missed?

A camera pass after lining will show it. We can reinstate any connection that was covered.
