The service

Building Drain and Stack CIPP Lining, explained.

Inside older buildings, the drain system is a mix of vertical stacks and horizontal drains hidden in walls, ceilings and slabs. Cast iron pipe can corrode, leak at joints and scale over until flow is restricted. Replacing it normally means opening walls, ceilings and floors.

CIPP lining works through existing access points such as roof vents, cleanouts and fixture openings. After cleaning and descaling, a liner is installed and cured in the stack or drain, giving it a new, smooth interior. Camera inspection first confirms the pipe can be lined and shows where branches and connections need to be reopened.

Questions

Building Drain and Stack Lining FAQ.

Can any cast iron stack be lined?

Not every one. Pipe that has lost too much wall, is badly misshapen or has failed fittings may need another approach. A camera shows which case you have.

Will occupants be disturbed?

Some access and short outages are needed. We plan around the building so disruption is as limited as we can make it.

Does lining fix leaks at fittings?

A continuous liner can bridge many leaking joints, but each case depends on the pipe and fitting condition.
